The Presentation
For continuing students of English, Hugh conducts presentations about Australia (history, geography, politics, lifestyle etc). There will be plenty of opportunities for student questions and interaction.
Target Audience
Generally secondary school students; however, the presentation could be modified for younger students.

Background
Hugh Childers is a historian and political scientist, who specialises in Australian Studies and has been involved in historical and social research for museums. His particular interests are in the outback and the story behind Waltzing Matilda, Australia's national song. Hugh has worked in a variety of education settings as an administrator and has taught EFL (English as a Foreign Language) in Germany. In 2003 and 2004, Hugh and his wife Ros completed two very successful tours to Germany with their Australian-themed English language puppet show. They performed their puppet show and gave presentations about Australia in youth hostels and schools in Bavaria, Westphalia, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Hessen.
